1. Tell us about yourself.

My name is Makesi Duncan and I am the creator Dadbodcyclinginc.

Dadbodcyclinginc started as simply a group of novice cyclists who didn’t fit the mould and build of traditional cyclists. I was personally built more like a linebacker than a cyclist. It has now grown into an entity that promotes the growth of diversity and inclusion within the cycling community for people of all sizes and races.

2. What do you love about cycling

I personally love the freedom cycling brings me. I’ve gone places I couldn’t imagine on my bike. As a city kid, I couldn’t imagine riding my bike in the woods but now it brings me peace.

3. What barriers have you faced in cycling

The main hurdle I’ve faced in cycling is being stereotyped for my size. I often hear that I’m not built like a cyclist or that my size is nothing but a disadvantage.

4. Why were you interested in contributing?

I am eager to contribute to CCC to spread my message of positivity and inclusion in the cycling community. I’ve been honoured to meet so many amazing like-minded individuals through cycling and I only hope to increase that circle.

5. Your fondest memory on the bike

By far my fondest memory on the bike is crossing the finish line at SBT GRVL. That day was filled with so much adversity that I’m happy to even experience completing it.
