1. Tell us about yourself.
My name's Llori Sharpe, a 23 year old cyclist (riding for L39ION of Los Angeles) and chocolate-maker (working for Chocollor Chocolate) hailing from Kingston, Jamaica.
2. What do you love about cycling
I love how free I feel on the bike and the many places I can explore while on two wheels.
3. What barriers have you faced in cycling
I haven't faced significant barriers in cycling thus far (thankfully), but the most challenging encounter I've had would have to be securing a visa to get to Europe when I first signed with Canyon-SRAM for 2022. Eventually, I was successful, but like many non-European cyclists, getting over there to take advantage of cycling opportunities can sometimes be extremely difficult
4. Why were you interested in contributing?
I truly appreciate the desire of this platform to promote diversity in cycling, and I simply want to be a part of the initiative
5. Your fondest memory on the bike
On the racing side of things, my fondest memory would either be completing my first ever stage race (5 days) and feeling a true sense of accomplishment or, more recently, when I got second at the Caribbean Cycling Championships last year as I was able to share that moment with my mom. As for simply riding my bike, there are too many contenders😅...I really can't choose.
